Multiple trees were reported down across PR-374 in the Castaner sector of Lares during the afternoon. Social media reports and local officials confirm blocked roads and scattered power line impacts due to wind gusts associated with the outer bands of Hurricane Erin. Municipal emergency crews were working to clear debris.

Wider weather episode

Major Hurricane Erin moved northeast and north of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Erin's Outer Bands and then Feeder Bands still affected the islands, producing strong thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rains across the islands. Several reports of wind gust damage, along with reports of high surf, flooding and debris flow were received between August 16 to 18.
