Event narrative

A 911 report indicated that bamboo trees fell onto PR-30 near the exit to Exp. Chayanne in Gurabo. The roadway was obstructed. It was unknown if electrical lines were affected.

Wider weather episode

Major Hurricane Erin moved northeast and north of Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Erin's Outer Bands and then Feeder Bands still affected the islands, producing strong thunderstorms, gusty winds, and heavy rains across the islands. Several reports of wind gust damage, along with reports of high surf, flooding and debris flow were received between August 16 to 18.
