Event narrative

The Bullhead City Airport AWOS measured a gust to 68 mph. Eight power poles were blown down on the north end of the city, knocking out power to 25,000 customers. Trees, fences, and street signs were blown down, car windows were blown out, shingles were blown off roofs, a temporary structure was knocked over, and at least one garage door was damaged.

Wider weather episode

Southeasterly flow advected in monsoon moisture, fueling scattered thunderstorms, some of which produced severe winds and dust storm conditions.
