Multiple pictures and videos received from the public via social media and relayed via broadcast media showed a waterspout just north of Anna Maria Island and southwest of the Sunshine Skyway Bridge.

Evening thunderstorms within northeast flow enhanced by the sea breeze over the area between weak Eastern Seaboard surface ridging extending into the northern gulf and a lingering Western Atlantic surface trough produce a waterspout and strong marine wind gust near the mouth of Tampa Bay.
