A public report of a 65 mph wind gust.

A large trough was situated across much of the western CONUS. This set up a potent baroclinic zone draped diagonally from the SW to the NE. Mid-level lapse rates were around 7-8 C. Bulk shear was over 40 KT with sufficient CAPE. In the late afternoon storms began to fire along the stalled boundary. These supercells primarily produced 70-81 mph winds with an additional 1 inch hail report.
