Drought — Butler, Missouri

2025-10-01 to 2025-10-05 · Butler, Missouri

Wider weather episode

Drought conditions from September continued into October, with portions of Southeast Missouri from Van Buren to Charleston in the south, and Perry County to the north, entering October in D2 (Severe Drought). Drought onset began with a very dry August and first half of September, with a rainy late September. Some early month rainfall improved drought status near the Bootheel. Later on, heavy rain on October 18th in the north led to improved drought conditions for Perry County. Carter and Ripley Counties were the only ones in the entire Quad State region to have D2 drought linger into November. Harvest season was ongoing, resulting in limited additional agricultural impacts for Southeast Missouri.
