Severe drought conditions during September 2025 improved to moderate drought in early October across Houston County. By the end of the month, no drought conditions were present across the county.

After an abnormally dry September, beneficial rainfall returned to Middle Tennessee during October 2025. Rain amounts generally ranged from 3 to 6 inches during the month which resulted in improvements in the drought status. The 10 percent of the area that was in severe drought status at the end of September improved to 0 percent by early October. By the end of the month, there was only moderate drought in Wayne County.
