Ahead of the front NW Energy sensor at Cornucopia road near Virginia City measured a 65 mph gust. Behind the front RAWS station RRDM8 Red Rock measured a 58 mph gust.
The wider storm
Robust southwesterly flow developed across Southwest Montana ahead of a potent trough and attendant cold front on October 25. Ahead of the front there were isolated instances of strong winds and gusts east of I-15 and south of I-90. Two additional instances of criteria gusts were observed behind the cold front during the evening of the 25th.
