Event narrative

Extreme drought conditions remained across the entire zone.

Wider weather episode

Remnants of two tropical systems from the eastern Pacific moved over the Desert Southwest in the early part of the month providing above normal precipitation over the Four Corners and northwestern portion of New Mexico. This provided modest improvements to drought conditions over portions of western NM. Meanwhile, below normal precipitation was observed across eastern NM where drought conditions remained consistent for much of this half of the state with the exception of some degradation through southeastern NM.
