Mesonet station UP252 (8.1 W Lodgepole) reported a severe wind gust with the storm.
Wider weather episode
A strong cold front moving across the forecast area on October 4th lead to widespread precipitation. The Nebraska panhandle was in the warm sector ahead of the front, leading to increased moisture and instability. A few thunderstorms developed, including one severe storm in the southern panhandle.
