Wider weather episode

A lead shortwave on the southern periphery of a larger trough over the Central Plains was able to provide enough forcing for storms to form across east-central Arkansas during the early morning hours of September 19, 2025. These storms moved across northwest Mississippi during the morning, producing outflow boundaries that eventually resulted in new storm development over northeast Mississippi. These storms produced some damaging winds near Tupelo by early afternoon.
