Event narrative

The western half of the zone remained in Exceptional(D4) drought while the east remained in Extreme(D3) drought. The Cooperative Observer at Cliff reported 2.57 inches of precipitation which was 0.58 inches above normal.

Wider weather episode

Above normal rainfall for much of the region brought some small drought relief to southern New Mexico in September.
