Event narrative

The northwest half of the zone remained in Exceptional(D4) drought and the southeast half in Extreme(D3) drought. The Antelope Wells Cooperative Observer reported 3.73 inches of precipitation which was 2.08 inches above normal.

Wider weather episode

Above normal rainfall for much of the region brought some small drought relief to southern New Mexico in September.
