Event narrative

A waterspout with an associated spray ring was observed by Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary personnel north northwest of Sand Key Light. The condensation funnel cloud was slightly tilted, of medium width, and reached three quarters the way down from cloud base. The waterspout moved slowly southward.

Wider weather episode

A waterspout was observed in association with a convective shower forming along an old outflow boundary. Weak lower tropospheric ridging was present over the Florida Peninsula.
