Event narrative

The 911 Call Center reported that three males and one female were trapped in the Rio Prieto area. There were no reported injuries; the individuals were stranded due to flooding conditions. All four individuals were rescued safely. A flash flood warning was in effect at the time of the incident, with an estimated 2 to 3 inches of rainfall in the area.

Wider weather episode

Enhanced trade winds brought an increase in tropical moisture. Additionally, instability aloft increased due to the vicinity of an upper-level low. These features fuel strong showers and thunderstorms, causing flooding.
