Event narrative

A School Bus drove into a flooded Avenida Las Palmas (Avenue) between sectors Amelia and Vietnam in northern Guaynabo. The school bus broke down and remained stranded with the driver and more than 10 children inside. Police officers rescued the passengers; no one was injured.

Wider weather episode

Tropical moisture associated with a tropical wave and other trade wind perturbations, along with an upper-level trough resulted in the formation of strong showers and thunderstorms. These showers resulted in flooding, landslide and wind damage along portions of eastern, northern and western Puerto Rico.
