What the National Weather Service wrote

A large tree fell blocking portions of PR-149 at Barrio Jagas in Ciales. The downed tree obstructed traffic but no injuries were reported. Event associated with a strong thunderstorm producing gusty winds and lightning.

The wider storm

Tropical moisture associated with a tropical wave and other trade wind perturbations, along with an upper-level trough resulted in the formation of strong showers and thunderstorms. These showers resulted in flooding, landslide and wind damage along portions of eastern, northern and western Puerto Rico.

Began near Ciales (18.3200, -66.4700).
