Event narrative

A 911 reporter informed us that a tree fell onto the power lines in Bo. Pozas along Road 615 in Ciales. A strong thunderstorm affecting the area produced winds estimated at 20 to 25 mph.

Wider weather episode

Tropical moisture associated with a tropical wave and other trade wind perturbations, along with an upper-level trough resulted in the formation of strong showers and thunderstorms. These showers resulted in flooding, landslide and wind damage along portions of eastern, northern and western Puerto Rico.
