Event narrative

Emergency Managers reported a fallen tree on Avenida Muoz Rivera, near the Tribunal de Primera Instancia in San Juan. At the time of the incident, a strong thunderstorm was moving across the area.

Wider weather episode

Tropical moisture associated with a tropical wave and other trade wind perturbations, along with an upper-level trough resulted in the formation of strong showers and thunderstorms. These showers resulted in flooding, landslide and wind damage along portions of eastern, northern and western Puerto Rico.
