Event narrative

Mesonet station MTVAR Valier Jct 1-15 Mp 347.0 measured a 62 mph wind gust along with high sustained winds of 43 mph over the span of 2.75 hours. Mesonet station Conrad AG RC (COAM8) measured also high sustained winds and gusts, ASOS station KCTB Cut Bank Airport measured high wind gusts, and Mesonet station Mission Lake S (MINM8) measured high sustained winds.

Wider weather episode

A cold front passage on the morning of November 7th allowed for strong mid level winds to mix down to the surface. This brought windy conditions to the North-Central MT plains. Another round of strong winds arrived Friday from a potent low-level jet.
