Event narrative

A landslide was reported at PR-623 near the bridge over Rio Tanama (River). Emergency managers reported that seven homes were cut off, as this was their only exit. Excavators were brought in to remove the debris before 8:30 p.m.

Wider weather episode

Tropical moisture associated with a tropical wave and other trade wind perturbations, along with an upper-level trough resulted in the formation of strong showers and thunderstorms. These showers resulted in flooding, landslide and wind damage along portions of eastern, northern and western Puerto Rico.
