A large 6in diameter tree branch was downed by downburst winds on the north side of Cape Girardeau.
Wider weather episode
A slow moving cold frontal boundary entered into the Quad State on the 12th. Showers and thunderstorms formed on the south side of the front and moved eastward through the region during the afternoon and early evening hours. Afternoon storms produced tree damage on the north side of Cape Girardeau. MLCAPE was around 2000J/kg, DCAPE was 900J/kg, and effective bulk shear was 20kts.
