A utility pole was reported down in the middle of the roadway along PR-713, Simarrona, near Rancho Guayama. Electrical cables were hanging across the pavement, initially obstructing traffic.

Wider weather episode

The flooding threat increased as a robust tropical wave moved across the region. This wave combined with instability associated with an upper-level trough. As the wave departed, tropical moisture continued to flux into Puerto Rico. Showers and thunderstorms were numerous, causing flooding, landslide and wind damage.
