Event narrative

A report was received via social media indicating that PR-301, at the intersection with Camino Las Guanbanas, was completely flooded with standing water due to heavy rains. No stranded vehicles were reported.

Wider weather episode

The flooding threat increased as a robust tropical wave moved across the region. This wave combined with instability associated with an upper-level trough. As the wave departed, tropical moisture continued to flux into Puerto Rico. Showers and thunderstorms were numerous, causing flooding, landslide and wind damage.
