County officials reported via social media a landslide blocking one lane on PR-851 at kilometer 0.5 in Barrio La Gloria. At that time, radar estimates indicated that 1.0 to 1.5 inches of rain had fallen.

Wider weather episode

The flooding threat increased as a robust tropical wave moved across the region. This wave combined with instability associated with an upper-level trough. As the wave departed, tropical moisture continued to flux into Puerto Rico. Showers and thunderstorms were numerous, causing flooding, landslide and wind damage.
