Event narrative

SCDPS reported trees and power lines down in the road near Monticello Rd.

Wider weather episode

An approaching mid-level trough provided sufficient lift across the region to produce some scattered strong-severe thunderstorms across the western and eastern SC midlands. Some modest wind shear thanks to the trough along with moderate instability helped produce a broken line of strong storms. While most reports were sub-severe, the strongest and most organized thunderstorm produced isolated tree and power line damage in Harbison State Forest.
