An NWS employee reported a large tree down on the side of I-95 northbound near mile marker 60.
Wider weather episode
A line of showers and storms, associated with a cold front and lee trough, moved into central and southern Virginia in the late afternoon and evening hours of September 4. While weak instability generally limited storm intensity, the strongest storms produced isolated areas of wind damage. Storms weakened considerably as they approached the coast overnight.
