The Sidney-Richland airport AWOS site (KSDY) recorded dense fog with visibility of 1/4 mile or worse for almost 15 hours. DOT cameras in the area also showed the dense fog.

After a day of rain and snow, clearing skies and colder air created areas of dense freezing fog near and north of US Highway 2 from the early morning into the afternoon hours of the 16th, in Roosevelt and Richland counties.
