Wider weather episode
Beginning north of Webster Reservoir, a lonely severe thunderstorm drifted southeast across central Rooks County this lazy August evening. The storm dropped 1' diameter hail just southwest of Webster and then produced 60 mph winds north of Plainville and at the Rooks County Airport. No damage was reported. The storm was really an anomaly in the area and formed in the high CAPE, lower shear environment. The storm weakened as sunset approached.
