Elevated site mesonet station XPEG Port Everglades reported a wind gust of 58 mph as a localized strong downburst occurred just east of Port Everglades. Site elevation is 135 feet.
Wider weather episode
A decaying surface frontal boundary and ample moisture helped support diurnal showers and storms over land in the afternoon and the coastal waters overnight and in the morning hours in late September.
