Gusty winds were reported by various weather stations around Kodiak City. The Matson Crane (elevation 340 ft) recorded a peak wind gust of 83 mph at 9:02 AM AKDT October 29. The Kodiak Airport reported gusty winds over 55 mph from 5:45 AM to 10:03 AM AKDT with a peak wind gust of 71 mph at 8:30 AM AKDT October 29.

A Fujiwhara effect occurred near the Alaska Peninsula between two lows, resulting in one strong low. This low deepened as it neared the southern end of Kodiak Island, pushing a strong front into the Gulf of Alaska and bringing strong easterly winds. In Kodiak Island, strong easterly winds were seen in various locations around Kodiak City. Heavy rain was also experienced along the eastern coast of the archipelago.
