Rainfall totals of only 2.00-2.50 inches through September and most of October resulted in D2 expanding into extreme northeast Hamilton County, with overall dry conditions maintaining D2 into December.

Wider weather episode

Following overall dry conditions from August through October, Severe Drought (D2) across northern central Indiana expanded on October 21st into a very small portion of Hamilton County. This drought intensity continued into December.
