Severe thunderstorm wind gusts downed numerous trees in Richmond, observed at least 10. Largest trees were about 16 inches in diameter.
Wider weather episode
A late summer hot and unstable airmass was in place on the afternoon of September 6th across New Hampshire. A pre-frontal trough ahead of a surface cold front was approaching the state by the afternoon hours. Discrete thunderstorms developed across Central and Southern New Hampshire with most of them remaining below severe strength. A few storms became stronger and were able to produce damaging wind gusts and some large hail.
