A 58 mph wind gust was recorded on the McCook Airport ASOS (KMCK). Wind gusts of 55 and 56 mph were also reported before the 58 mph gust as 8:25am CT and 8:53am CT respectively.

Wider weather episode

Winds steadily increased through the day on the 25th in wake of a morning cold front. Wind gusts of 55-60 mph occurred across Hitchcock and Red Willow counties, with the strongest being in northern Hitchcock county 8 NNE Culbertson.
