2025-12-01 · Jefferson, Kansas

Event narrative

Report of 5.2 inches of snow measured in McClouth in eastern Jefferson County.

Wider weather episode

A powdery snow fell on Monday December 1st across northeast Kansas. It was the first snow of the year and fell on a Monday morning after a holiday weekend so travel impacts were greater than perhaps would have been expected. Most areas received 1-4 inches however a band of 4-5 inch amounts did occur around the Topeka to Lawrence corridor into Jefferson County. Winds however were light under 10 mph so this could have been worse.
