Wider weather episode
Our very last thunderstorm event of the year happened as a strong cold front moved through the region, replacing the warmer late summer airmass with a proper fall airmass. This dropped snow levels behind the event, bringing just below an inch of rainfall right before multiple inches of snow fell on the mountains. Winds aloft near 40-60 kt matched gust front winds from a line of showers and storms accompanying the front, resulting in localized severe impacts.
