An area of low pressure moved south of the area while cold air remained in place across the eastern West Virginia Panhandle. This resulted in a period of snow, sleet, and freezing rain. Snow amounts were less than one inch, while ice amounts generally averaged around one tenth of an inch. Up to two tenths of ice were reported on the higher ridges.
