Wider weather episode

A highly unstable atmosphere over the Midwest, combined with a subtle boundary draping into the Upper Midwest on the morning of the 24th, resulted in development of a thunderstorm complex that crossed northern Lake Michigan and tracked through the Tip of the Mitt region. A mesovortex embedded within the complex tightened in the vicinity of Pellston, resulting in several reports of a possible funnel cloud in the vicinity of Weadock and Riggsville in rural, northern Cheboygan County though no tornado damage was discovered during the storm survey.
