Heavy rain occurred around El Paso county with a maximum total of 1.31 inches reported about 8 miles east-southeast of El Paso where a canopy at a gas station collapsed due to heavy rainfall. Other reports included 1.13 inches at the El Paso Airport and 0.91 inches about 5 miles west-southwest of El Paso.

Wider weather episode

A late season monsoon moisture surge from the east at the surface moved into the El Paso area. At the same time, an upper low was moving into the West Coast with a deep south-southwest flow aloft tapping abundant sub-tropical moisture. Widespread moderate to heavy rain occurred over El Paso county with damage reported on the east side of El Paso.
