Event narrative

CoCoRaHS and spotter reports indicated 3 to 8 inches fell across the area. This caused road to become snow covered, which led to slow and hazardous travel.

Wider weather episode

Snow develop during the early morning hours of December 3rd and spread southeast during the early morning hours. This produced slippery and hazardous road conditions through out the area, including I-25, I-76, and I-70. From the Denver Post...through 6:45 PM Wednesday, 939 flights at DIA were delayed and 11 were canceled, according to flight-tracking website FlightAware. Several school districts delayed opening due to treacherous travel conditions.
