Rainfall totals of only 2.50 to 3.00 inches through September and nearly all of October resulted in D2 conditions expanding from Illinois into areas northwest of Terre Haute on October 28th, with overall dry conditions maintaining D2 into December.
Wider weather episode
Following overall dry conditions from August through October, Severe Drought (D2) expanded over central Indiana for the second consecutive week on October 28th, into both far northern Henry County and small portions of Vermillion and Vigo Counties. This drought intensity continued into December.
