Event narrative

The Emigrant Wildfire was discovered on August 24th. The fire started 24 miles southeast of Oakridge in Lane County, Oregon and burned into Douglas County, Oregon. The fire was caused by lightning. As of 430 AM PST on October 6th, it had burned 33,127 acres, was 62% contained, no structures had been destroyed, and it had cost $ 60M.
