A dry upper level disturbance moved southeast across the state during the morning hours of December 6th. Strong mid-level northwest winds in the wake of this disturbance resulted in a brief high wind gust of 60 mph at a mesonet station southeast of Vaughn during the late morning hours. Northwest winds tapered off during the afternoon hours as the disturbance exited east into the Great Plains.
