Another dry upper level disturbance moved southeast across the state during the day on December 9th. Strong mid level northwest winds at the base of the disturbance resulted in a period of high wind gusts of up to 61 mph at a mesonet station southeast of Vaughn during the early afternoon hours. Northwest winds across the central highlands tapered off during the evening hours as the disturbance exited into the Great Plains.
