A warm front brought a period of elevation dependent snow to western Highland County during the daylight hours of December 10th. During the evening, a cold front moved through changing all precipitation to snow. Bursts of snow continued through the overnight before tapering to snow showers by daybreak December 11th. Snowfall accumulations of two to eight inches were observed. Winds gusted to 40 mph resulting in blowing snow. The combination of blowing and falling snow reduced visibilities below one quarter of a mile at at times.
