Snowfall totals of 6 to 10 inches were reported across St. Lawrence county with 11 inches in South Colton, 10 inches in Heuvelton and Edwards with 8 inches in Massena and Russell.

Wider weather episode

Low pressure moved across the St. Lawrence valley of both Canada and the United States on December 10th. Snowfall overspread northern New York during the morning hours and ended after midnight on December 11th. The heaviest of the snowfall was across St. Lawrence county where wraparound (defamation band) set up during the evening hours and lingered.

Snowfall totals ranged from 7 to 11 inches in St. Lawrence county, 4 to 6 inches in Franklin county, 3 to 5 inches in western Clinton and Essex counties with 2 to 3 inches in the Champlain Valley.

Wraparound, upslope snowfall continued in the higher terrain of the northern Adirondacks through Thursday night.

School closures and several vehicle accidents were the main impacts.
