AWOS station KMVH N Bar Ranch AWOS reported a 66 mph wind gust. They also had high sustained wind of 40 mph over the span of an hour. Mesonet station MTBCH Beacon Hill Us-87 Mp 35.0 also measured high wind gusts and high sustained winds. AWOS station K1OM Oscar also measured a high wind gust.
Wider weather episode
A cold front passage on the morning of November 7th allowed for strong mid level winds to mix down to the surface. This brought windy conditions to the North-Central MT plains. Another round of strong winds arrived Friday from a potent low-level jet.
