Winter Storm in Kanabec, Minnesota

Winter Storm November 25, 2025 – November 26, 2025 · Kanabec, Minnesota

What the National Weather Service wrote

Snowfall amounts around 5 to 8 inches were estimated across the county. Winds also increased Wednesday morning, with gusts up to 25 mph measured at Mora Municipal Airport.

The wider storm

A strong low pressure produced a late fall system that brought a round of rain and heavy snow, as well as very gusty winds to the Upper Midwest. The combination of heavy falling snow and northwest winds gusting to around 40 to 50 mph resulted in significant travel impacts, especially across western and central Minnesota where the strongest winds overlapped with falling snow.

The greatest snowfall amounts generally were reported along and north of the I-94 corridor, topping out around 5 to 9 inches.

The top snowfall reports were:

9.5 inches near Camp Ripley, MN (Morrison).

8.1 inches in Bertha, MN (Todd).

8.0 inches southwest of Vineland, MN (Morrison).

7.2 inches in Long Prairie, MN (Todd).

7.1 inches near Bock, MN (Mille Lacs).

7.0 inches in Carlos, MN (Douglas).

7.0 inches in Little Falls, MN (Morrison).
