Event narrative

Northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph with gusts to near 50 mph were common across Perkins County during the morning hours into the mid afternoon hours. The Grant AWOS site recorded sustained winds of 40 mph between 1100 am MST and noon MST with a peak wind gust of 51 mph.

Wider weather episode

Strong northwest winds of 30 to 40 mph with a gusts to around 60 mph occurred across north central Nebraska into portions of southwest Nebraska during the morning hours until the mid afternoon hours on November 25th. Peak wind gusts reached 61 mph or higher at the Imperial, Broken Bow and Valentine ASOS stations.
