The Casey County Kentucky Mesonet site (PCWN) recorded a low temperature of 29 degrees during the early morning hours. Several other CWOP sites also reported temperatures in the upper 20s.
Wider weather episode
High pressure centered over the Ohio Valley led to light winds and excellent radiational cooling conditions early on the morning of October 24, 2025. Temperatures dropped to at or below the freezing mark across much of central Kentucky. Lows in the upper 20s to lower 30s were common, and this was the first freeze of the season in many communities.
